WINTER 2026

Kawakawa is KRYSZSTOF's Winter 2026 collection, shaped by ideas of duality, protection, and care. Named after the native kawakawa leaf, whose heart-shaped form and healing properties have long held significance within te ao Māori, the collection reflects on the relationship between strength and softness, resilience and vulnerability. Rather than treating these qualities as opposites, Kawakawa considers them as states that coexist, informing garments that are both protective and adaptable.

Developed in acknowledgement of tino rangatiratanga and inspired by the mahi of Piripi (Misty Frequency), the collection embraces a restrained palette of red, black, and white. These colours establish a visual language that is both bold and deliberate, allowing silhouette, material, and construction to take precedence. Throughout the collection, natural fibres, layered forms, and adjustable garments encourage clothing to respond to the wearer, recognising that bodies, identities, and ways of living are continually evolving.

Utility is woven quietly into the collection through concealed storage, wrap constructions, and garments designed to move across sizes rather than conform to them. Layering becomes more than a styling device; it is a way of building protection, adaptability, and longevity into the wardrobe. Each piece is intended to exist in conversation with the next, creating a cohesive system rather than a series of isolated garments.

Photographed amongst the winter landscape surrounding the studio, Kawakawa settles into an environment of muted light, seasonal change, and quiet resilience. Like its namesake, the collection acknowledges healing not as the absence of hardship, but as an ongoing process of care and renewal. It offers a wardrobe that adapts, endures, and remains deeply connected to both people and place.
